Mr. Woods is a native of Tyler, Texas. He earned his law degree from St. Mary's University where he served as a staff writer for The Scholar, St. Mary's Law Review on Race and Social Justice. During law school, Mr. Woods clerked for The Honorable Robert Junell, United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas; The Honorable Marialyn Barnard, Texas Fourth Court of Appeals; and the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Texas. During law school, Mr. Woods also worked for General Counsel at Hess Energy Corporation in Houston.
Before law school, Mr. Woods worked as a Petroleum Landman in the oil and gas industry, and also served in the Peace Corps in Ukraine. Prior to starting his own law firm, Mr. Woods worked at a nationwide law firm based in Austin, Texas, where his practice focused on tax litigation and collecting a wide array of receivables for government clients and taxing entities, including many east Texas counties, cities, and school districts.
